How do I change the language from English to Spanish?
Teachers and students can change the language between English and Spanish at any time, on any page, from the Toolbar. The Spanish toggle in the Language section automatically provides any resources within the lesson in Spanish (text, video, or interactives). Learn more about the Toolbar here.
How do I adjust Lexile levels?
Both Teachers and Students can adjust the reading levels in Science Techbook. This can be done directly from the Toolbar. Learn more about the Toolbar here.
There are two ways to adjust the Lexile levels:
- Select Language from the Toolbar and adjust between Reading Level A (on grade level) and Reading Level B (approximately two levels below grade level.)
- Select More from the Toolbar and under LANGUAGE AND LEVEL choose the reading level.
How do I print Student Edition Pages?
Print Science Techbook Student Edition Pages easily to overcome technology limitations and cater to tactile learning preferences, enhancing overall teaching strategies.
To print, follow these steps:

Student Edition pages are linked at the top of every Lesson and underneath each Activity on the Concept pages. When you click on the Student Edition Pages link, a new window opens.
- Once you've opened the pages, select Preview & Print. The PDF opens in a new window. Print from here.
How do I access Immersive Reader?
Immersive Reader is available within the Interactive Glossary to support students. Whenever you see the Immersive Reader icon, you can access the tool. Learn more about Immersive Reader.
How do I access Interactive Glossary?
There are three ways to access the Interactive Glossary.
- Select the Glossary button on the Toolbar.Learn more about the Toolbar here.
- Select the More section on the Toolbar, and then select Glossary from RESOURCES.
- Vocabulary terms are linked to the Glossary throughout Science Techbook lessons. You can locate the blue, hyperlinked words throughout the text.
Each term in the Interactive Glossary includes a variety of alternative definition formats such as: animations that helps describe the term, details that include a definition and key context sentences for the term, video segments discussing the term, and/or images or diagrams.
How do I turn on video captions?
Teachers and students can turn on video captions from the CC button, located on the bottom right. Many videos have several language options.
