What teacher resources are available, and how to I find them?
The Middle School Science Techbook provides point-of-use resources designed to adapt to your teaching needs, like Course Materials, Unit Resources, and Lesson Planning supports.
Course Materials
Find all course materials in the Course Materials section. Select the option from the top action bar to access. These resources are available on the Course page.
When you select Course Materials, a pop-up window appears that allows you access (and download) from a list of available materials.
Unit Resources
Find all unit resources in the Unit Resources section. Select the option from the top action bar to access. These resources are available on a Unit page.
When you select Unit Resources, a pop-up window appears that allows you to access (and download) from a list of available resources to support planning, such as Overviews, Planners, Standards, Assessments, Pacing Guides, and PDFs of the Teacher and Student Edition Books. Note that the resources available to you depend on the specific version of the Science Techbook included in your license.

Lesson Planning
You can access lesson planning materials from the following two locations:
- Select Teacher Overview from the left side bar menu.
- Select the Teacher Overview tile at the start of every Lesson or Concept (term used dependent on the program you're licensed to).
From a Lesson's Teacher Overview, access comprehensive teacher notes and supports for each Lesson in a Unit quickly and easily, such as:
- Lesson Objectives: Clear goals outlining what students should learn and achieve by the end of the lesson.
- Performance Expectations: Specific skills and knowledge students demonstrate to show mastery of the content.
- Standards: A framework combining crosscutting concepts, science practices, and core ideas to deepen understanding. Note that standards are also avaible when you are in List View, and from the Table of Contents.

- English Language Learner Support: Targeted strategies and resources to help ELL students engage with and understand the anchor phenomenon.

Lesson Notes
Each lesson in the Science Techbook provides scaffolded supports, instructional strategies, and practical guidance to help students build skills and stay engaged. These resources are seamlessly integrated throughout the lesson and include features such as:
- SOS Strategies: Research backed instructional strategies to engage learners.
- Graphic Organizers: A visual tool that helps organize information, outline ideas, and clarify relationships between concepts to make learning more accessible and structured.
- Discussion Prompts: Questions or statements designed to spark conversation and encourage meaningful dialogue on a specific topic.
Embedded Lesson Notes provide essential guidance to help you foster an engaging and effective learning experience.
Where do I find planning and pacing resources?
Planning and pacing resources are located in the Course Materials under Program Guide.

How do I view standards within a lesson?
Once you are in a Lesson, open the left-side menu and select Lesson Planning.
A new window appears. From here, open to view all standards for that specific lesson.
