Single Sign-On Users: If your school/district utilizes SSO to log in users, please contact your district IT team for assistance with username and password updates. Do NOT manually change password information.
If your students are logging directly in to Discovery Education, there are several ways to help a student who has forgotten their username and/or password.
- Look up the student's username or password on your saved student credentials page
- Reset the student's username
- Reset the student's password
Look Up the Student's Credentials
If you generated new student passwords for your class at the beginning of the school year, open the password document you saved when you generated the new passwords. Each students' username and password is listed on the page.
View or Update a Student's Username
Teachers can update individual student passwords from the All Classrooms page.
Open the All Classrooms Page
- If you don't see the navigation pane on the left side of the screen, click the Global Nav icon on your Homepage.
- When the navigation pane opens, select Classrooms.
View or Update a Student's Username
- When the All Classrooms page opens, click the three dots next to the name of the student's classroom and select Manage this class.
- When the Manage Classroom page opens, select Students.
- When the student list for the classroom appears, click the three dots next to the student whose username you need to update, and select Edit.
- When the Edit Student window opens, you can share the current username with the student or type a new username and save the update.

Reset a Student's Password
- When the All Classrooms page opens, select the student's classroom.
- When the Classroom page opens, click Students.
- When the student list opens, click the three dots next to the student whose username you need to update, and select Reset Password.
- When the Reset Password window opens, select the type of password you want to create and click Continue.
- When the Reset Password window updates, showing the new student password, click Generate Student Password.
- When the Reset Password window updates again, click Download Student Password to save the student's new password and the rest of their login information as a document. You could also share the updated password with student at this time.
| The saved document will show all the information your student needs to log in. We recommend naming this document something to help you remember who it is for and when you created the updated password, like "NAME_ DE Login info and Credentials_10.11.2025" |
| Do not skip this step. This is the only time teachers will be able to save these student passwords. |
