If your students use QR codes to log in to Discovery Education, there are two ways to help a student who has lost their QR code:
- Print the student's current QR code from your saved student QR code page
- Regenerate a student's QR code
Printing the Student's Current QR Code
If you generated student QR codes for your class at the beginning of the school year, open the student QR code document you saved when you generated the QR codes, print the document (cut out the student's QR code if applicable), and give the student a new copy of their QR code.
Note: If you think another student could be signing in using the lost QR code, we recommend you generate a new QR code for the student. The current (lost) QR code for the student will stop working.
Regenerating and Printing a New QR Code for the Student
Teachers can create a new QR code for a student from the All Classrooms page.
Open the All Classrooms Page
- If you don't see the navigation pane on the left side of the screen, click the Global Nav icon on your Homepage.
- When the navigation pane opens, select Classrooms.
Regenerate a Student's QR Code
- When the All Classrooms page opens, select the student's classroom.
- When the Classroom page opens, click Students.
- When the student list opens, click the three dots next to the student whose QR code you need to regenerate, and select Issue Sign In QR Code.
- When the Bulk Issue Student Sign-In QR Codes page opens, select the student and click Generate QR Code From Selection.
- Confirm that you want to generate the new code. You will see a confirmation pop-up that the code is being generated.
- After the codes are generated, select Continue to Download.
- Select a layout and select Download QR Codes. Follow the prompts on your screen to save the QR codes in a place that will be easy to find on your device. To see images of each layout, jump to this section of the article.
- Avery 5160 Address Labels: The QR code is 1"x 2-5/8", located in the top left corner of the page.
- Avery 22806 Labels: square labels: The QR code is 2" x 2", located in the top left corner of the page.
- Full-size letter layout: The student's QR code is centered on the page.
| The saved document will show all the information your students need to log in. We recommend naming this document something to help you remember when you created the passwords, like "Student Name DE QR Code.10.10.2025" |
Printing The Student's QR Code
To view and print the new QR Code for the student, open the QR Code document you saved when you generated the new QR code for the student. Follow the prompts on your device to print the document.
