|
Q: Do district filter settings override school filter settings?
A: No. District filter settings are applied to schools that do not have school-level filters. If school-level filters have been configured, the school's filters will override district filter settings.
Q: If multiple classroom product filters are set, how do they work together?
A: If multiple classroom product filters are applied at a district or school, the filter type determines how they work together.
- If Grade and Subject filters are applied, classrooms must match criteria in both the Grade and Subject filters to be visible to teachers.
- If multiple Class Name filters are applied, a classroom will be visible if it matches any of the Class Name filter specifications.
After Setting Filters
Q: Do filtered classrooms affect student data in reports or assignments?
A: No. Filtering product classrooms control which classrooms teachers see in their DreamBox educator dashboards. It does not affect student access, assignments, licenses, student data in classroom reports, or individual classroom rosters.
Q: When will teachers see filtered classrooms in their educator product dashboards?
A: After you have saved district or school classroom product filter settings, teachers will see an updated classroom list in their educator dashboards in approximately one hour.
Troubleshooting Filters
Q: I updated classroom filters and I don't see the changes in teacher dashboards. What could be causing this?
(Need to update answer format)
Did you see confirmation your filter updates were saved?
When you open the Classroom Product Filter page for your school or district, do you see your saved changes in the district or school-level filter sections? If not, you may not have saved your changes. Make the changes again and then save, making sure you see the save confirmation notification.
Timing
If you saw the confirmation your changes were saved:
- Has it been over one hour since you saved the adjusted classroom product filters?
- Do you see your saved changes in the district or school-level filters on the page?
If these two things are true and you do not see your changes when impersonating a teacher, reach out to our Customer Support Team.
Q: After configuring multiple filters, some classrooms are showing correctly for teachers and some teachers are missing classrooms. How do I fix this?
A: If some teacher dashboards look correct but others are missing classrooms, the missing classrooms may not meet all of the filter requirements and have been filtered out. A classroom must meet the criteria of every active filter to be visible in a teacher's dashboard.
We recommend you:
- Review your district and/or school classroom product filter settings and adjust any that may be filtering out the missing classes.
- Reach out to your district IT team and see if the missing classroom grade-level, subject, and name includes the criteria you have added to the filters in your Student Information System (SIS).
- If your teachers are still missing some classrooms in their dashboards, reach out to our Customer Support Team.
