Getting Started with QR Codes
Students can use QR codes to sign in to Discovery Education regardless of the way they sign in with a text password. Teachers can generate or regenerate student QR codes for all or multiple students in a classroom using the Bulk Generate QR Code tool.

Opening the Classrooms Page
- If you don't see the navigation pane on the left side of the screen, click the Global Nav icon on your Homepage.
- When the navigation pane opens, select Classrooms.
Generating and Saving QR Codes for a Classroom
- When the All Classrooms page opens, click the three dots next to the classroom you need to update and select Bulk generate QR code.
- Select the students who need new or updated QR codes and click Generate QR Codes From Selection.
- Confirm that you want to generate new codes. You will see a confirmation pop-up that the codes are being generated.
- After the codes are generated, select Continue to Download.
- Select a layout and select Download QR Codes. Follow the prompts on your screen to save the QR codes in a place that will be easy to find on your device. To see images of each layout, jump to this section of the article.
- Avery 5160 Address Labels: Each QR code is 1"x 2-5/8", and there are multiple student QR codes on a page.
- Avery 22806 Labels: square labels: Each QR code is 2" x 2", and there are multiple student QR codes on a page.
- Full-size letter layout: Includes one student QR code per page.
Note: The saved document will show all the information your students need to log in. We recommend naming this document something to help you remember when you created the passwords, like "Student DE QR Codes.10.10.2025"
- After you see the confirmation message that the QR Codes have been saved, click Return to Classrooms.
Printing Student QR Codes for a Classroom
To view and print the QR Codes for your class, open the class QR Code document you saved when you generated QR codes for your classroom. Follow the prompts on your device to print the document.
