| Q: What is Everyday Teaching Essentials? |
A: Everyday Teaching Essentials is a collection of resources focused on instructional practices that can be applied across multiple subjects. Resources include microlearnings, short-form videos, downloadable resources, and editable templates. Each resource takes less than 5 minutes for teachers to use and is designed to be immediately transferable into their teaching.
| Q: Does Everyday Teaching Essentials offer resources for educators at any grade level, K-12? |
A: Yes! Everyday Teaching Essentials includes resources for all educators working with students grades K-12. Some resources can be used by all teachers, regardless of the grade level/s they teach. Others are targeted to educators of specific grade-bands: K-2, 3-5, K-5, 6-8, 9-12, 6-12 and K-12.
After selecting one of the five resource themes, teachers can use filters to narrow down what kind of content, grade band, and duration of resource that best fits their needs, including grade band.
| Q: Is the content in Everyday Teaching Essentials new, or is it also available in DE Experience or other products? |
A: Yes, the content in Everyday Teaching Essentials is exclusive to this product. It was developed separately from other DE products and isn't duplicated anywhere else. In addition, the resources in Everyday Teaching Essentials are routinely updated based on teacher ratings and feedback.

A: Yes! Our resources are created and vetted by our educational experts and incorporate research from Marzano Academy and the McRel Institute. You can view cited research by asset title and type by clicking the cited research link at the bottom of any page in Everyday Teaching Essentials.

Resource Themes
Resources in Everyday Teaching Essentials are organized across five themes, each addressing a different aspect of teaching and classroom life.
- Back to School: Help students get ready to learn and grow during the new school year.
- Student Engagement: Create powerful moments and active learners.
- Classroom Management: Support calm classrooms built on clear expectations.
- Technology Integration: Use technology purposefully to lead to powerful learning.
- Differentiation: Build different student learning paths that guide students toward the same goal.
Resource Types
Within each theme, educators will find multiple resource types. The most common types are:

Short-form videos offer bite-sized video content, and under 5 minutes in length. Look for the Watch button on the resource tile. |
| Microlearnings |
Microlearnings are interactive courses that can be completed in five minutes or less. Look for the Interact button on the resource tile. |
| Downloadable PDF |
Downloadable PDFs include guides and other materials. Look for the Download button on the resource tile. |
| Editable PDF |
Teachers can download and customize editable PDFs (templates). Look for the Edit button on the resource tile. |
| Podcast |
Podcasts provide actionable learning in five minutes or less. Look for the View button on the resource tile. |
Opening and Closing ETE and ETE Resources
Opening ETE
| We recommend you open Everyday Teaching Essentials (ETE) in a new tab. This makes it easier to return to the DE Experience Homepage if needed. If you open ETE in the same tab, the only way to go back to the Experience Homepage is the browser back button, which may take a long time. |
There are two ways to open Everyday Teaching Essentials from the DE Experience Homepage.
Option 1: In the Curriculum Packs section of the page, right-click the Everyday Teaching Essentials tile and select Open link in a new tab.
Option 2: Open the global navigation pane, right-click Everyday Teaching Essentials, and select Open link in a new tab.
Returning to the Experience Homepage
How you return to the Experience Homepage depends on how you opened Everyday Teaching Essentials (ETE).
Option 1: If you opened ETE in a new tab, either click the X on the Everyday Teaching Essentials tab to close it, or click the Discovery Education tab to switch back to the Experience Homepage.
Option 2: If you opened ETE in the same tab and see only the Everyday Teaching Essentials tab, click the back button on your browser until you return to the Experience Homepage.

Searching Resources
There are two ways to search for content in Everyday Teaching Essentials
- Select a theme and filter all theme-related resources
- Use the search bar and use filters to narrow the results
Searching by Theme
To search for a resource focusing on one of the main themes
- From the Home page, select one of the theme icons.
- When the theme resource page opens, narrow your search by selecting Asset Type, Content Area, Duration, Grade Band, and/or Bundle Type in the left navigation pane.
Using the Search Bar
To find a resource using the search bar:
- From the Home page, type a keyword or phrase in the search bar. As you type, the Home page will start showing resource tiles based on possible search results.
- When you are finished typing your search and all resource tiles associated with your keywords and phrases appear, select one or more of the following resource types to narrow the results: Plans, Paths, Courses, or Lessons.
