Science Techbook Lessons are complete with tools and resources for both teachers and students. With the ability to print lessons, you can ensure all students have access to materials, regardless of technology availability. With ready-to-teach lessons, you can save time planning, and do more of what you love, engaging your students.
What is available in a Lesson?
Ready-to-Teach Lessons
Easily deliver whole group lessons with the slideshow presentation mode. All lessons in Science Techbook are standards aligned and ready for the classroom.
Use the arrows on the slideshow to navigate through the slides of a lesson to review the content. Select the Immersive Reader icon to access the tool. Learn more about Immersive Reader.
From the Lesson Preview view, you have quick access to the following information:
- Student Objectives
- Lesson Timing
- Lesson Standards
- Lesson Sections
Ready to engage your class? Select Present to Class to dive into scientific concepts with your students.
Point-of-Use Teacher Notes
Teacher notes are divided into lesson sections. Within these teacher notes, you have access to the following:
- Lesson Timing
- Lesson Objectives
- Step-by-Step Guidance
- Setting the Purpose to Activate Prior Knowledge
- Ask Questions to Engage Students in Discourse
- Sample Student Responses
- Differentiation Support
- SOS Strategies

Lesson Vocabulary
Access all Lesson Vocabulary at the bottom of a Lesson page. The vocabulary words are shown as clickable images that open the Interactive Glossary.
When you select the 3-dot menu on a vocabulary image, you have access to the following options:
How do I print a lesson?
Print the full Lesson Slides or Teacher Notes directly from any Lesson. Open the 3-dot menu in the top-left corner of the action bar and select Print. Learn more about all the options available in the action bar.
From Print Layout, choose what components of the Lesson to print.

How do I Assign a Lesson?
When it's time to share a Science Techbook Lesson with students, it's easy and quick. Navigate to the top action bar, select Assign, and follow the steps. Learn more about Assign here.
- Select Assign from the action bar in the top right.

How do I present a lesson to class?
When you're ready to present to class, follow these steps:
- Select Present to Class.
- The lesson opens in full screen. Select Tools in the top right for access to the Teacher Notes and Immersive Reader.
Navigate the Lesson
When the Lesson is in present mode, there are three ways to navigate through the slides:
- Use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
- Use the arrows at the top of the lesson slides.
- Use the drop-down slide menu from the top of the lesson slides. From here, you can quickly access any slide from the lesson.
