With Science Techbook, Formative, Summative, and Performance-Based assessments are integrated into each unit's learning cycle, aiding student proficiency in defined learning goals.
How do I edit assessments?
Science Techbook allows you to edit most summative assessments, offering greater flexibility and customization to meet classroom needs. Take a tour here.
You can update assessments to align more closely with lesson plans and create multiple versions tailored to the diverse needs of students. Learn more about editable assessments here.
How do I Assign an assessment?
You can assign an assessment any time from the top action bar.
Select Assign and then choose how to assign.
How do I access Assigned Assessment results?
Your Teacher Dashboard provides real time assessment data access, enabling prompt feedback and informed instructional decisions.
To access, navigate to Assessments from the top action bar. Learn more about other options in the top action bar.
A new window opens where you can explore the following:
- Additional Assessments: This report lists additional pre-made standards-aligned assessments and results. Additional assessments will vary depending on the program you're licensed to.
- Summative Assessments: These assessments aim to track student understanding of the content and state standards at the concept or unit level.
- Formative Assessments: Given throughout a course, these assessments track progress and provide instant data to inform instruction.
- Assessment Builder: Create concept, standards-based, or practice assessments from Discovery Education's item bank. Learn more about Assessment Builder.
- Studio: Create your own lessons and checks for understanding in Studio using Discovery Education's media library. Learn more about Studio.
